Growing Herbs in The House

A great way to enjoy fresh herbs throughout the winter months is to grow them yourself. They are not only nutritious, but they freshen the air and smell great throughout the house. Simply pick out your favorites and place them in a small (4” or so) pot using EKO Organic Potting Mix. Be sure the container has a drainage hole in the bottom and a saucer to collect excess water. Place them on a well-lit window sill in your kitchen. If adequate natural light isn’t available, a grow-light will also produce great results.

Most garden centers carry a good variety of herbs throughout the year, and there are lots of choices.

As new growth appears, trim it off with a sharp pair of scissors, and you will have a consistent supply of fresh herbs all winter. Water regularly and be sure to water the pots thoroughly each time.
