Whether you spend 5 hours a month, or 5 hours a day gardening, tools are necessary to help us perform the tasks that gardening requires. As the weather begins to warm, and the planting season is just ahead, this is a great time to take a look at your shovels, rakes, hoes, etc. and get them cleaned up and sharpened if necessary.
In most cases a quick scrubbing with water and a steel wool pad will work just fine. If your tools do need sharpening, you can do it yourself or contact a local garden center or hardware store. Many of them offer that service in their store. Either way is fine, the main thing is to get it done before you get too busy in the garden.
